Welcome to the website of Urbleshanny N.S., Scotstown, Co. Monaghan. It gives us great pleasure to extend a sincere welcome to you all to our website.
Urbleshanny N.S., (meaning “The Fox’s Tail”) is a mixed rural school, situated on the outskirts of Scotstown village, approximately eight kilometres north of Monaghan Town.
A school was first built on this current site in 1932 and previous to that a school of the same name was located on the site of St. Mary’s Hall, near Urbleshanny Church.  In the mid sixties extensive renovation was carried out on this school and in 1997/98 a new school was built here.  It was officially opened on 18 June 1999 by a former teacher at the school, Mrs. Delia Murtagh (nee McCormilla). A further extension was added to the school in 2013 consisting of four classrooms and three learning rooms.
We sincerely hope that everybody, especially pupils, parents and past pupils, find this site interesting and informative and hopefully all will find it enjoyable and beneficial.
Good luck with your browsing.
