New All-Weather Pitch
February 16th was a red letter day for Urbleshanny National School with the completion of our state of the art astro-turf facility.
Construction began on our new all-weather football pitch in November 2022. After stripping the topsoil and draining the proposed site, work began on layering and fencing the 50mx30m pitch.
On January 25th 2023, having completed the base of the development, artifical grass was laid onto a preformed shockpad. A week later, the surface was almost complete as a carpet of artificial grass was installed. The final task was to install high-ball netting.
Excited children got to try out their pitch for the first time this week, after months of watching it being laid out right behind their school.
