Weather Station
Urbleshanny NS Parent Association have very generously provided the school with a weather station. It has been erected at the back of the school playground and the monitor currently connected to a laptop in Ms Daly's room. The information is recorded and displayed in an easy-to-read format on the laptop. Weather information recorded includes inside/outside temperature and humidity, rainfall amount, wind speed, wind direction, wind chill factor and barometric pressure, time of sunrise, sunset and moon phase. Important meteorological concepts can be taught from the data collected by the weather station. With such a valuable resource in our school, who knows there may be a budding meteorologist interested in a future career in weather watching among the pupils of Urbleshanny NS. Many thanks to the Parent Association for this amazing asset that can be used for a wide variety of classroom projects.
