Green School Project 2019

Mrs Duffy's class walked as far as The Ferns estate in Scotstown village for the Walkability Audit. They observed how safe/unsafe it is to walk to school eg: footpath, road signs, illegal parking, etc. It is part of the Environmental Review. It's the 2nd step towards getting the flag- it shows us where we are starting from and what we need to aim for. The committee have reviewed the bins and energy and water saving  measures we are using in the school. They also surveyed how all the pupils travel to school.  6th class are in the process of plotting this info on a large map. Sorcha Brophy is the Green Schools Travel Coordinator with An Taisce. She will be back for a meeting on Thursday 21st March to help the committee formulate our Action Plan (Step 3). We placed a note in the newsletter recently looking for parents to join the committee as we have none. We would love to have parent participation in this project.
