End of Term Assembly 2018

At the end of each term, the entire school come together and assemble in the school hall. Pupils who have been awarded prizes in school competitions or in extra-curricular events held outside school are encouraged to display their awards. The pupils in UrbleshannyNS have many interests and are involved in various activities after school such as athletics, gymnastics, dancing, swimming, music, football and many other pursuits. Bernice won an award for the 'Born To Perform' Best Dancer while other pupils such as Senan and Shannon have won many medals and trophies for Irish dancing. Two groups of girls entered their projects in the U11 (Annie, Ava, Cassie & Hollie) and U13 (Shannon, Leah, Lille Mai & Kate) Community Games and will represent their parish in the All-Ireland Final in May in Limerick. The U11's project is entitled 'New Inventions can Make or Break the World' while the U13's project is on the subject of 'Girls Under 14 are More Likely to Drop Out of Sports than Boys.' Between debating and entering quiz teams, dancing and gymnastics, drama and music, our pupils are busy in and out of school.
