Boys Schools Finals October 2019
The Allianz Boys' Football Leagues organised by Cumann na mBunscol Mhuineacháin took place on Saturday, 19th of October 2019, in Grattan Park, Inniskeen. The Urbleshanny team faced Loughmourne NS at 11.15am in Roinn 2.
To reach the County Finals day, the team had met with Scoil Éanna, Ballybay, Scoil Rois, Carrickamcross, Scoil Mhuire, Latton and finally Loughmourne NS. It was a tight game, by all accounts. The Urbleshanny boys were down by three points going into the last quarter and the boys really dug deep to defend their attacks.
It was a spirited performance and wonderful to secure victory by the narrowest of margins. Captain Mark received the Northern Standard Monaghan Primary Schools Gaelic Football Championship Cup on behalf of the team. The final score was 3-04 to 2-08.Commiserations to a gallant Loughmourne side.
