
Bebras National Champion!
A huge congratulations to Anthony Mc Quaid in Sixth Class who is celebrating after winning the BEBRAS Computational Thinking Challenge National Final.
Anthony received the highest score in the 10-12 year old category in the competition which took place online on Thursday, March 24th. He took home the prize for overall national winner. Anthony has earned a brand new Fire tablet for his efforts.
The competition aims to identify and encourage students who have a talent in the area of computational thinking.
The finals were an island-wide event; with over 102 students from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland qualifying.
Bebras is a problem-solving challenge with questions in the form of engaging puzzles. It is divided into five age categories from 8-10 years to 16-18 years of age.
Each participant has 45 minutes to answer up to 16 multiple-choice questions that focus on computational and logical thinking.
In Ireland, the Bebras Challenge is organised by the ICS Foundation, the social enterprise arm of the Irish Computer Society.
