4th Class Tour to Busy Bees Ceramics, Glaslough June 2021

4th class travelled to the picturesque village of Glaslough in North Monaghan today for their school tour. Glaslough village has many impressive historical and architectural features with beautifully cut stone buildings on the edge of the Castle Leslie Estate. Glaslough won the Tidy Towns Competition in 2019. It is also home to Busy Bees Ceramics run by Brenda McGee and her daughter, Ria. The class learned how to throw a pot in the pottery studio and then decorate their own individual pots using clay. Brenda with her two assistants, Ria and Antonia, instructed the pupils in a very enjoyable experience. 4th class became potters for the day!

They also got to let off steam in the playpark and Sensory Garden across the road from the pottery studio. A great time was had by all.
